Published Magazines

Our magazines are at the heart of everything we do at HeARTistry. Each issue is a carefully crafted collection of original short stories, poetry, artwork, photography, and other creative expressions submitted by people of all ages who want to share the gift of creativity to make a difference. Our magazines are designed specifically for children who are hospitalized, with the hope of bringing happiness, hope, and a sense of connection to these children. We discover that creativity can be a powerful healing and comforting tool, especially during times when children might be feeling isolated, frightened, or overpowered.

Our aim is for our magazine to be a highlight of a child's day—a source of color, inspiration, and creativity they can flip through to be encouraged and entertained. Every page is filled with family-friendly content that's positive, compassionate, and inclusive. We avoid the negative and make sure every article exudes the warmth, hope, and encouragement we want every child to experience when they open our magazine.

We welcome submissions from writers and artists who want to offer a child in need a piece of their heart. Every submission is read, reviewed, and carefully considered by the HeARTistry team. In order to ensure quality and thoughtfulness, every submission is read at least twice and is evaluated based on creativity, clarity, emotional tone, and how well it upholds our mission. We seek writing that is good-hearted, creative, and readable for young audiences.

Whether it's an illustration, a photography piece, a narrative, a written article, or a touching poem, each piece of work has the power to bring a smile to a child's face—and we don't take that responsibility lightly. As we select and craft these creative submissions with utmost care, we're ultimately able to produce a magazine that provides children and the adults who care for them with not only entertainment, but healing and hope too.
